Please help.. Nanny's problem or my problem?
recently have some problems with my gal's nanny.. anyone out there please advice if its my problem or her problem:-
1) she changes 10pcs of pampers ALMOST EVERYDAY!! within one week (5days), the new pack of Mamy Poko (48pcs) was used up..
1) she changes 10pcs of pampers ALMOST EVERYDAY!! within one week (5days), the new pack of Mamy Poko (48pcs) was used up..
To her: abit change, abit change? change whenever there is abit stain? or whenever she feels like it? hehe..
To me: when gal was with me one full day, i used at most 6pcs leh.. mummies out there, do you all change that frequent? i dunno how she changes also.. my pattern was to change before her next feed or as and when i heard she poo.. isn't it normal? i print $ also cant cater for her heavy usage if she continues like that..
is it my problem or her problem?
2) she keep saying my bb needs to see doctor.. cos her poo was yellow and watery.. for mummies who feed bb bm fully, pls let me know.. poo should be watery and yellow.. all the way when she was born, her poo was like that.. no change at all..
To her: but nanny say she sick, saying she "lao sai".. chey!! and also she keep saying Chanel have alot of plegm..
To me: but if Chanel is really sick, she would have feel uncomfortable and cried.. but she did not ma.. moreover i read in the website that a breastfed baby is less likely to suffer from diarrhoea, as breastmilk helps to inhibit the micro-organisms which cause it. and i heard that its normal that babies have a bit of plegm but as long as it does not causes discomfort in her, its ok.. i also heard that doctors dun ahve any medicine for plegm one.. just drink more water to clear..
so is it her problem or my problem??
3) anything she say wanna ask her see doctor its because she seldom burp out though burp her for a long time..
To her: its a problem not to burp..
To me: i heard from nurse its normal cos sometimes they burp from below and we cant hear..one thing i notice its Chanel always guai guai drinks her milk nonstop.. so i guess maybe less air goes in and so hard to burp out? i have a friend who DO NOT BURP her gal at all.. also survive til now..
so is it her problem or my problem?
4) she keep asking me to give baby fm..
To her: she say she scare next time if she wanna change to fm, hard to adapt..
To me: so im not worried cos i have given her similac before and she is ok with it.. moreover, i have heard before that bb is able to adapt from bm to fm easily whereas vice versa might have a problem.. think she worries too much.. moreover im gog to gv bb bm all the way and dun intend to gv her fm at all.. tot bm is good for bb? why is the misgiving of bm from her? so funny..
so is it her problem or my problem??
5) She likes to give Chanel drink gripewater which i dun like..
To her: ALL babies MUST have abit one of gripewater one and she says babies must drink lotsa water everyday..
To me: I dun really like her to take gripewater when there is no problem with Chanel.. moreover i read in the website that there is no data showing that gripewater is safe for baby though it has been in the market for so long.. but im her mum and ask her dun give, she has to listen ma.. but she keep arguing that bb must have a bit one.. mad man!! moreover i heard that bb who is on bm, no need to drink lotsa water cos bm contains water.. but she dun agree with me..
so is it her problem or my problem?
Hubby say all its my problem.. sad.. :( all her "facts" are actually based on her experience taking care of fm babies.. i told her bm babies are different.. she dun agree with me.. i juz think she have no experience in taking care of bm baby but she just simply dun accept the fact leh..if she really dun know and let me teach her, then ok la.. but her mindset was to kinda "force" her to be what she wants the bb to be.. sigh..
HELP ME!!! TOW-LONG!!
i think i will try to talk to the nanny again.. if she cant compromise, then i have no choice but to change her.. this is the last option i wanna choose though.. not easy to find one good one.. sob... head big big..

Hi Chanel's Mommy, don't get stressed up and argue with the nanny. This is 2 cents opinion:
1. Breastfed bb poo at least after every feed. That means you will change approx 6-8 diapers a day. In order to save $$, what we do is let bb wear drypers in the day and let her wear mamy pokko in the nite.
2. Breastfed bb tends to have yellowish and slightly wet poo. According to our PD, if bb suffers fm diahorrea, its very wet and the interval is like every other hours.
As for phlegm, most new borns has them. Not sure why, as it could be due to their airways. Read about more bbies have nose issues or sentitive noses cos their environment is too clean. Check if the phlegm is hindering her milk intake. Will she get choke or cough when she continues to drink her milk without having to stop? If she has problem in taking her milk where frequent intervals are needed, then you may wanna consult your PD.
3. Not all bbies burp. If you burp them for 10-30 mins and they still don't burp, you do not need to cont'd for the next 1 hour. Unless you see the baby vomit out all the milk later, then it is really problem. Choi choi choi har! This is juz scenario painting. My bb takes a long time to burp too. We leave it as it is after sometime. However, they will regurgitate a little milk sometimes after feed.
4. So far i did not hear any bbies who have transitional problem from BM to FM. In fact, if you given them FM milk in the nite only, i think they would have gotten used to the taste liao.
Please given Chanel BM if you can still, juz make sure that the milk is properly store and transportated to the nanny. Milk handling is also very important. Juz make sure that the milk is well heated up before feeding time.
Personally, i think you if your nanny is younger, they will be more receptive to new ideas. But if it is older lady, then you my need to coax them a little.
Hope the above help.
hi,
thanks for the comments..
1) ya, if me at home, i also change about 6-8.. nv 10pcs lor.. :P hehe.. actually me is using mamy poko in daytime and pampers (NB) in night time.. what other cheaper brand is good huh? that can be used in day time and not so xiong? hehe..
2) i strongly believe its not diahorrea also leh cos its not that wet and interval is not frequent.. moreoever i see her poo everyday and i know what its like if its not normal.. as for the phlegm, its doesnt seems to be blocking her milk intake.. she stil take as per normal.. even if she cough/choke, its only once or none at all per feed.. i think mayb bcos she drinks too fast also.. ya, she usually drinks w/o stopping.. haha!! :P
3) actually she seldom regurgitate.. even if it is, maybe its because we move her too much straight after her milk (before burping). we notice that so we tried not to move her straight after her milk.. let her sit in a upright position for all the milk to go down, at the same time burp her.. :P
4) that time during confinement, Chanel did drink abit of FM and she is ok.so i dun worry about the transition.. :P heehee.. ya will try to give BM as long as i can make it.. :P
ya, she is not really that young.. maybe around 40+ ba..like that call young or not?? hehe.. ya might need to change her mindset in a tactful way..
1)As bb's skin is sensitive thus changing of diaper when only uringe 1 time is necessary. For me I change as and when i see the diaper is wet le. Not too sure how many pcs i use but think also be tween 6-8 and never 10 . Maybe you want to try Nepia. I have been using it all the way. It's more affordable, soft and good absorbent. $15 for one packet, no of pcs dependng on the size.
2. BF babies tend to have more watery stools and its like lao sai" to some if they do not have knowledge about BF. Think for this maybe u wantto try to nicely explain to her. If not then tell ehr u brought to doctor le that's what the dr say then she would be appeased.
3.Actully for me i will make sure my cutie burp or if not got fart come out. If i tryied burping for 1/2 hr le i will stop trying and lay him down. But normally if dun burp my son will regurigtate out milk so maybe to her burping is impt.
4. Transitioning from BM to FM. haha as for this its more ma fan to feed BM cuz she ahas to pre warm it up and all but FM easy just make when bb wants. So maybe that's why she insist on FM. But she has to listen to u cuz u r the mum her "employer" mah how can she teach u what to do right. BM is good for bb but think most advise is feed till 1 year enough le...
Hope to Help.
lobang for you!
1. Nepia is a very comfy diaper and especially so bb with fat thighs like mine. Reasonably price @ S$15 per pce and when you accumulate up to 10 sticker, you can exchange for NTUC voucher.
You may call 6226-2650 for Nepia Distributor or E-mail (info@nepia.com.sg). The lady, Karen reply super duper fast! They delivery to you if you purchase up to S$50
2. The other source available to you is Dignus.com where you will get a whole lot of babies essential or adult and households essentials from this website. Dignus sell Nepia @ S$14 but no stickers to X-change for voucher lah.
A/w, mamy poko is really good for nite as it is very absorbent. Don't to let Chanel wear pampers in the nite. You can let her wear drypers in the day and that will save you great deal.
bee3licious
actually the seals can be exchanged for voucher whether or not u purchased from nepia direct or from dignus....but thought dignus has closed ? cuz one of their shareholder back out and they are now in search of a new partner??
yeah agree with u Nepia is soft good and affordable!
